The Ramones Over-rated?
The Ramones seem to have accustomed the label as the founders of ‘Punk Rock’, however this statement is wrong. They get most of their credit purely for being the first band in this genre, which is false seeing as the Ramones formed in 1974, while The Stooges’ first album was released in 1969. In actual fact, their talent as a band is minimal. While the band succeeded with “Blitzkreig Bop” being named the catchiest and most well written Punk song of all time, the rest of their material doesn’t really step up to the mark.
The band really presents itself as more hype than substance.
