Body confidence seems to be a topic that I talk a lot about recently, however it never fails to hold the same importance. It breaks my heart to know that children as young as 10 and 11 are suffering with self esteem/confidence issues all because of an idealised society. It’s okay not to be a size zero and it’s okay to not be curvy. You are perfect the way you are. As long as you are content with yourself, who cares what anyone thinks? Walk out the house with your head held high each morning because you look fabulous and no-one is going to take that away from you.
As soon as you start to appreciate yourself, others will start appreciating you too.
It’s time to realise that just because you might not look like a model on tv, you definitely are not ‘ugly’ or ‘fat’ and no matter how much some people will try and persuade you that you are, YOU ARE NOT! As long as you feel healthy and happy with yourself, sod what others say! What gives them the right to take confidence away from you?!
As a curvy girl, I have suffered with self esteem issues and low self confidence all my life, but now I’m coming to terms with the ’so what’ outlook on life. So what if I’m not as skinny as other girls? So what if I don’t have long, thick hair? So what if I don’t have a tiny waist and skinny legs? I’m happy with myself and that’s the most important thing. This is the happiest I’ve been in my whole life because i’ve finally accepted the fact that I don’t have to change for anyone so long as I’m happy within myself and how I am as a person. Why can’t we just be left alone to have confidence no matter what size or shape we are?
I promise you, self confidence - even the tiniest bit of it - makes the biggest difference in life, so start loving yourself! It’s okay to do that, and if anyone tries to stop you, tell them where to stick it.
