5 Seconds Of Summer - Don’t Stop EP Review

5 Seconds Of Summer - Don’t Stop EP Review

Before we proceed, let me set the record straight: this band is not a boy band. They are boys, in a band, but most certainly are not a boy band. They play their own instruments, they don’t dance and their influences are more commonly found within the pages of Alternative Press and Kerrang! as opposed to Tiger Beat and Bop, despite supporting One Direction on their Take Me Home tour and now their Where We Are tour.
Today, the latest EP from 5 Seconds Of Summer found its way onto iTunes and similar digital music retailers worldwide. The 4-track release features songs fans can expect to see live when the group opens for One Direction later this year. We expect to see Don’t Stop go straight into the Top 10 after the success of She Looks So Perfect on it’s first night of release.
The track ‘Rejects’ has a Green Day/ blink-182 edge to it, and it’s clear that these boys are incorporating their influences into their own music.
With clean-cut vocals and precise instrumental vices, the 5 Seconds Of Summer boys are bound to enter the Pop-Punk scene with a bang.
 4.5/5
