5 Seconds of Summer Cancel Opening Tour Dates with One Direction

Australian pop-punk boy band 5 Seconds of Summer has recently cancelled their opening tour dates with One Direction in Copenhagen and Portugal.
In a statement, 5SOS said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our support sets on the 1D Tour for Copenhagen on June 16th/17th and Porto on July 13th :( McBusted are now going to be playing in Copenhagen and D.A.M.A will be opening in Porto, so it’s still going to be a wicked bunch of shows!”
The statement added: “We are really sad [that] we can’t make it and are very sorry to any of our fans who were looking forward to seeing us.”
Formed in Sydney in 2011, the Australian foursome gained further success aside from their YouTube channel when they were invited by One Direction to their “Take Me Home Tour,” which kicked off in London’s O2 Arena.
Some of 5SOS’s hits include “She Looks So Perfect” (the first time in 14 years that an Aussie group has been #1 in Britain’s music charts) and “Don’t Stop.” Their self-titled debut album is set to be released on June 27, 2014.
A lot of fans now want to see the two groups together, especially after the mash-up of “She Looks So Perfect” and One Direction’s “Kiss You” went viral online, however this has caused some controversy amongst the 5 Seconds Of Summer fandom due to them picking up the boy-band title, when in actual fact they are a band, and many people claim them to be the next One Direction – but 5SOS have proved these comments wrong with tracks such as ‘Good Girls’ which can be downloaded now with early release from their album, and their cover of The Romantics ‘What I Like About You’ featured on the ‘She Looks So Perfect’ EP.
